Amazing Evesham Carnival!

LARGE crowds enjoyed the 90th anniversary of the Evesham Carnival in bright sunshine.

The carnival, organised by Evesham Round Table and the local community committee, saw resident gather in Crown Meadow for assembly and the judging by the mayor of Evesham Mark Goodge assisted by Evesham town crier John Raphael.

The theme for this year’s floats was an open theme so there was a wide variety of floats on the back of large lorries supplied by local firms.

The floats included one from main sponsor The Valley with their beach and pirates theme, Evesham Adventure Playground, Vale of Evesham School, Complete Spas, Heart of England Mencap, Tesco, Evesham and Badsey Hockey Club and Evesham Polish Community.

For the first time the Evesham Ladies Circle who organise the carnival queen decided to expand this to have a carnival king as well.

Olivia Hancock aged 12 and Ciaren Baker also aged12 had been crowned for the event and were supported by several attendants Coen Perkins aged 10, Tahlia Walker aged seven, Lucy-Grace Walker aged eight, Daisy Alford aged seven, Grace Hancock, aged seven and Caitlin Paul aged seven.

The carnival king and queen’s float were made by the Evesham Ladies Circle chaired by Lucy Workman.
